Today is the Father’s Day Thanksgiving Worship Service. We give thanks for fathers who have nurtured us with kindness at times and with discipline at others. May the Lord bless our fathers, keep them in His hands, and make their paths prosperous.
We also remember that God, who gave us life, chose to bring us into this world as children of our fathers, and we praise His holy name. There may be times when communication between fathers and children feels challenging. However, this is not something we chose but part of God’s wondrous plan. In accordance with His Word, may we be those who honor our fathers.
“Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. ‘Honor your father and mother’—which is the first commandment with a promise—‘so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.’” (Ephesians 6:1-3)
